About Me

Hi! I'm Christopher Olsen and I'm a licensed associate marriage and family therapist (LAMFT). I know from personal experience how challenging it can be to be vulnerable and let others see our authentic selves. I know this can be especially true in relationships where being vulnerable might bring up fears of not being understood. Therapy offers a chance to slow down, reflect, and get curious about these vulnerable parts. I believe that healing and growth become possible when we allow ourselves to be truly seen.

I work with a variety of clients, but I have a special affinity for working with couples and relationships. I particularly enjoy supporting couples who are exploring consensual non-monogamy or other non-traditional relationship values. I approach these conversations with openness, curiosity, and respect, creating a supportive space for you and your significant other(s) to better understand how these changes might affect you.

In my work with couples, I emphasizes the importance of emotional safety and security. I understand that some topics can feel daunting or even off-limits, and I will work to foster an environment where you feel encouraged and empowered to share honestly. My goal is to help couples build deeper trust, strengthen communication, and nurture connection with one another.

I was born and raised in the Twin Cities and began my professional life as a computer programmer before moving into the therapy field. Outside of work, I enjoy creating art, playing pickleball, and relaxing with a good video game or book.

I work under the supervision of Jessi Leader, MA, LMFT.

About the Name

We all get stuck in patterns that don't always help us move forward. These patterns become familiar and comfortable — and it is very human to want to stick with what's comfortable; even when that comfort comes at the expense of our needs and wants. There's nothing wrong with that, it just means we need to find new patterns! Patterns that help us pursue what we want, live our values, and build stronger relationships. Stable Orbit is about identifying the patterns that are keeping you stuck, figuring out where you want to be, and moving into that new "stable orbit".
